Rise in Christianity
The rise in Christianity was one of the main causes for the fall of the Roman Empire. For example, Christianity made its followers into pacifists, or people who oppose war. This meant that if some soldiers were Christian, then they might quit the army to put their full faith in their belief. Because of this, the army may have weakened, and therefore, Rome became more vulnerable. In addition, the rise in Christianity may have lowered Rome's population by a lot, because of the persecution of Christians. Since many Romans were Christian, they might have fled Rome for protection. This may have resulted in many important jobs being unmanned. Another way that Christianity may have played a role in the fall of Rome was money-wise. Money had to go to Christianity for churches and mission trips and jobs to the church. This money could have gone to the army for reinforcements, or to the government to build walls for defense. But instead, Christianity took a lot of Rome's money. This was how the rise in Christianity led to the fall of the Roman Empire.
